Sigmah is a project promoting user autonomy. The aim is that users can use the tool for daily activities without any training. So each screen must have a very intuitive graphical design.
To have a intuitive graphical design, a good practice is to draw mockups of new screens and iterate with feedbacks from users or other people until the graphical design is perceived as intuitive by most people.
This wiki page is here to collect and share all lessons learnt on mockuping for Sigmah.
Anyone is free to use any software for mockuping. But to respect easily the “realistic objective” explained above, a good solution is to use the open-source solution Pencil: http://pencil.evolus.vn/
Pencil is full of plugins, including “stencils” useful to have directly ExtJs-looking graphical components. The two following can be used :
